How to play
- Tap a unit card, then tap a lane to send it (or drag the card onto a lane).
- Steam refills over time: tap BOILER for more, EVOLVE for a new era and stronger units.
- Tap your castle special when it glows; lane specials then need a lane tap.
- Keyboard: 1-6 pick a card, A/S/D lanes, Space special, B boiler, E evolve.

About this game
Your clockwork castle stands at the bottom of the field, the enemy's at the top, and three cobblestone lanes run between them. Spend steam to send tin soldiers, wind-up riders and steam lancers into a lane. They march, clash in a shower of sparks and flying gears, and hammer the castle at the other end. First castle to fall loses.
Cog Kingdoms is a fast lane battle strategy game built for one thumb. Every match is a tug of war of quick decisions: which lane to push, which unit counters what is coming, and when to stop spending and invest in your kingdom.
Counters that matter
- 16 clockwork units: shields, archers, cavalry, siege engines, flyers, healers and hidden saboteurs
- Shields block arrows, cavalry runs down archers and siege, archers shoot flyers out of the sky, siege cracks shields
- Gear Gremlins sneak past your lines to bomb the castle and steal steam
Evolve your kingdom
- Rise through four eras: Tin, Brass, Steam and Aether
- Each era rebuilds your castle bigger and unlocks stronger units
- Upgrade the boiler for more steam, or spend it all on a push. Your call.
Castle specials
- 8 specials such as Cog Storm, Repair, Time Freeze, Magnet, Steam Vent and Aether Beam
- Build your deck: 6 units and 1 special before every battle
Modes
- Campaign: 30 battles across six regions against six AI generals with their own personality, from the reckless Baron Bolt to the calculating Clockmaster Null
- Battle modifiers like Fortress, Blitz, Narrow Pass and Iron Walls, and up to 3 stars per battle
- Conquest: a ranked ladder against AI generals with a rating that rises and falls with every match
- Daily Siege: the same armies and enemy for everyone, scored on castle health and speed
- Skirmish: practice against any general on easy, normal or hard
- 2 players on one phone: one at the top, one at the bottom, play head to head
Hand-drawn toy soldier look, screen-shaking castle hits, a brass band soundtrack and no waiting timers. Plays offline.
